A patient lies still under a blanket, fine needles in place, while crystal bowls, gongs and chimes build overtones in the room. The needles rest for about 28 minutes, a figure the clinic ties to a Daoist-informed practice that observes the flow of Qi as 28.8 minutes. The sound is made by overtone-emitting instruments that drone with binaural beats, meant to slow the brain waves and carry the listener toward a relaxed, even dreamlike state. This is the Acupuncture + Sound Bath, and Retreatment Wellness calls itself its home.

Dr. Alessandra Young founded the clinic in 2022 as a serene, one-on-one setting where East Asian medicine meets modern health and beauty technology. The pages are plain that it is not a volume clinic. Her path ran through a master's degree at Emperor's College in Santa Monica, an externship at the Disney Cancer Center at Providence Hospital in Burbank, and a doctorate at Pacific College in San Diego. She then practiced at a Beverly Hills pain and anxiety clinic and treated passengers aboard the cruise ship Crystal Symphony. She moved to Salt Lake City in 2020 and joined Flow Acupuncture & Apothecary before opening her own practice.

Treatments begin with a full evaluation and combine at least two modalities, among them acupuncture, dry needling, cupping, Tui Na, gua sha, moxibustion, guided meditation and herbal formulas. The clinic also offers facial acupuncture and medical microneedling with LED light. In August 2025 Young became a Diplomate in TCM Dermatology, and the pages describe her as the only practitioner in Utah certified by the Association of Holistic TCM Dermatology.

The work also travels. The clinic has hosted community and private group sound baths, a fundraiser sound meditation for Wild Heart Sanctuary, and a January 2026 Embody You Wellness Retreat at Seven Sisters Pilates. In September 2024 it ran an acupuncture and meditation retreat at Maple Grove Hot Springs, an off-grid, 45-acre property in Thatcher, Idaho.
